01
Polypropylene (PP)It is a thermoplastic resin made by polymerizing propylene. When not colored, it is white translucent, waxy, flammable, the use temperature range is -30~140 °C, and the PP material products modified by technical methods can withstand the ultra-low temperature environment of liquid nitrogen. Below 80 °C, it can resist the corrosion of acid, alkali, salt solution and a variety of organic solvents, can be decomposed under high temperature and oxidation, and will become brittle at low temperature. PP is lighter than PE, more transparent than PE, and harder than PE.
The products using medical-grade PP materials in Amngent consumables are centrifuge tubes, tips, PCR tubes, PCR plates, cryovials, PP cassettes, screw tubes, sampling tubes, deep well plates, transparent reagent bottles。
02
Polyethylene (PE)It is a thermoplastic resin prepared by polymerization of ethylene. Polyethylene is opaque, odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance, the lowest use temperature can reach -100~-70 °C, insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, easy to soften at high temperatures. Good chemical stability, and acetone, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, etc. do not react, can resist most acid and alkali erosion, but not resistant to acids with oxidizing properties.
Amngent straw It is made of PE material. PE includes HDPE and LDPE, Amngent brown and natural reagent bottles bottle is made of HDPE, HDPE is high-density polyethylene, hardness, tensile strength is better than low-density polyethylene, and is softer than PP reagent bottle. At the same time, its wear resistance, electrical insulation, toughness and cold resistance are good, chemical stability is good, under room temperature conditions, insoluble in any organic solvent, acid, alkali and various salts corrosion.
03
Polycarbonate (PC)It is a polymer containing carbonate based in the molecular chain and is a strong thermoplastic resin. Good transparency, high hardness, the use temperature range is -60~120 °C, and it can withstand the ultra-low temperature environment of liquid nitrogen after modification. PC materials have high dimensional stability, colorability, electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance, but are not resistant to strong acids and alkalis and some organic solvents such as alcohol.
The products using PC materials in Amngent consumables arePC triangle shaker flask, bacterial culture flask, PC cryopreservation box。
04
Polystyrene (PS) It refers to a polymer synthesized from styrene monomer by radical addition and polymerization. It is a colorless and transparent thermoplastic with high hardness, good gloss and transparency. Because the mechanical properties of polystyrene decrease significantly with the increase of temperature and poor heat resistance, the continuous use temperature is about 60 °C, and the highest should not exceed 80 °C. Modified polystyrene is opaque.
PS material corrosion resistance is good, resistant to various alkalis, salts and aqueous solutions, for lower alcohols and some acids (such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, boric acid, hydrochloric acid with mass fraction of 10% ~ 30%, acetic acid with mass fraction of 1% ~ 25%, formic acid with mass fraction of 1% ~ 90%) is also stable, but solvent resistance, oxidation resistance is poor, concentrated nitric acid and other oxidants can destroy it.
The PS products in Amngent's consumables include cell culture plates, cell culture dishes, cell culture flasks, pipettes, bacterial culture dishes, and white reagent tanks, and modified polystyrene materials for inoculation rings and cell scrapers.
05
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)It is a polymer made of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) polymerized by initiators such as peroxides and azo compounds or according to the mechanism of radical polymerization reaction under the action of light and heat. Poor stability of light and heat, above 100 ° C or after long-term sun exposure, it will decompose and produce hydrogen chloride, and further automatic catalytic decomposition, causing discoloration, physical and mechanical properties are also rapidly declining, in practical applications must be added stabilizers to improve the stability of heat and light.
PVC materials are non-flammable, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC is highly resistant to oxidants, reducing agents and strong acids. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid, and is not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Amngent's transparent reagent tank is made of PVC.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)It is the most important variety of thermoplastic polyester, commonly known as polyester resin. PET material has high transparency, can block ultraviolet rays, and has good gloss. PET can be used for a long time in the temperature range of 55-60 °C, can withstand high temperature of 65 °C for short-term use, and can withstand low temperature of -70 °C, and has little effect on its mechanical properties at high and low temperatures.
The Amngent 250-1000ml serum bottle is made of PET, which is resistant to oil, fat, dilute acid, and alkali, and can withstand most solvents.
PET can also be divided into APET, RPET and PETG. Amngent's 5-125ml small volume serum bottle is made of PETG material, which has high mechanical strength and excellent flexibility, higher transparency and better gloss than PVC material, easy to print, good chemical resistance and environmental advantages.
